’she took the midnight train going anywhere’

Written by SS on June 28, 2009 – 9:59 pm -

It started with an email inviting me to go on a trip with 12 other women.  I didn’t know most of them (including the one doing the inviting) but something in the email.. maybe the way it was worded, maybe the chance to get away, maybe just simply the fact that the chosen destination had a name like ‘Marfa’.  I knew I couldn’t miss it.  I had to go.  So a week ago I packed a suitcase and boarded a plane.  And then another plane.  And then a car.  And 13 hours after I started my day I pulled into the Thunderbird parking lot.  What followed the next three days was Marfa[trip].  An incredible experience of getting to know 12 other women passionate about living, loving, dreaming & capturing it all with their cameras & hearts.  I loved each and every one of them and I can’t wait to see where our adventures take us…

‘closer to your eyes, get your attention’

Written by SS on June 25, 2009 – 11:25 am -

It’s crazy to me how small this huge world of ours its.  Last year I met Stephanie when she flew out for a mentoring session.  We keep in touch and when I was putting together my NJ consult she was telling me about her friend Chrissi that would be there.  Right before I was getting ready to leave, I get a call from an old friend Scarlette who was also, not only interested in a mentoring session, but knows Chrissi & Stephanie!  Three different cities, three different sessions…  all connected through friends & family.  It’s like I have this built-in, tight-knit network that just keeps growing by more amazing & wonderful people :)

When Scarlette and I got together the other day, we had this lovely girl come out and do some modeling for the shooting portion of our day.  It was such a fabulous day… Scarlette showed me a cool new spot & I don’t think our model could have been any cuter…
